MarsEdit
I’ve been using the beta of MarsEdit to
compose and post here.
Being able to post from the desktop makes the process a breeze. The integration
with BBEdit and being able to use the same HTML and CSS I use on my blog for preview templates tops off this thoughtful app.
There is one bug however
that means I won’t be able to use MarsEdit when I edit
posts in which I’ve marked up code examples.
When I post code examples I replace the angle brackets that enclose the HTML tags with character entities, so the example source is revealed. When I edit these posts MarsEdit alters my markup by parsing the
entities and turning them into real HTML tags so the point is lost.
This bug is the only thing keeping me from totally embracing this great tool and
I’m really looking forward to the release version.
