Tougher anti-terrorism laws on fast track
“Anti-terrorism laws will be toughened by the new Howard Government and harsh powers blocked by Labor could be pushed through a Coalition-dominated Senate, Attorney-General Philip Ruddock said yesterday.”

I fail see why there is a need to strip me of my civil rights in the name of
anti-terrorism. The Government and especially the Prime Minister keeps on
saying that we have no increased threat of terrorism because of our
involvement with George Bush’s mad agendas.
Indeed, Howard has put it forward that there is actually a lesser threat to us despite advice to the contrary.
If Howard is forthright why is draconian legislation which will erode my
civil rights once again being pursued?
It looks like the Goverment will have a majority in the Senate (if not in
their own right, then by association) so expect more of our civil rights and
government services to disappear—don’t even get me started on the so
called Free Trade Agreement with the United States of America.
It seems to me that these so-called “freedom loving” governments have a very different understanding of the word
free than the rest of us.
