Understanding XSLT

Understanding XSLT: An adventure in understanding and/or better understanding XSLT through the writings of Jeni Tennison, one of top experts in the XSLT community.”

In late 2000 I was thrown in the deep-end of a proof-of-concept application using XSLT to do presentation layer transforms on XML coming out of the system — lots of deep re-branding based on reseller/user/group/role at an early Application Service Provider. I was asked to handle design of the XSLT process as far as the presentation layer was concerned and collaborate on the XML design.

With no books on the subject in my local computer bookshop it came down to Don Box’s Essential XML, MSDN (unfortunately all their stuff was still about their WD implementation as MSXML 3.0 was just about to be released as we started the project) but mostly I was deciphering what I could from the XSLT mailing list - Jeni Tennison rules OK.

I fell in love with XML and XSLT on this project.
