On Friday night The Vangaurd was turned into an isle of joy.
The night was a deeply satisfying banquet of jazz/blues with occasional hints of Blossom Dearie, Astrud Gilberto, James Taylor, Janis Joplin and the Allman Brothers marinated in the unique and considerable talent of Ms Alana Stone and her quartet.
We were putty in her hands. Thoroughly entertained, and completely mesmerised by her passionate, warm-hearted, generous, unguarded performance.
